Some very interesting comms being relayed on UHF SATCOM (262.125 MHz) from Colombia, which sounded like some type of military or security operation centered on locating and approaching a heavily mined (“minado hasta el hijo de putas”) hostile camp (“Campamento Bonito”). The units can be heard discussing movements and positions and sounded like they were trying to find a safe, unmined entry path to the camp, which they believe exists because the enemy typically avoids mining main paths. The danger of the area was emphasized by specific reference to a house at coordinates 5-57-33N 72-11-28W, from which hostiles had previously shot at a friendly helicopter when it entered the zone.
