Caught this earlier today right on the bottom edge of 40 meters. Not sure how to explain this one better, other than listening to the clip. Talk about creepy!

The Chinese oddity station is back. Token reported a couple days ago that the station was on 6326 in USB mode. It’s the same Chinese oddity station that was monitored last week on 5449. So far it’s been noted at the following times: 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700 UTC. From the west coast the best shot of hearing this is usually during the 1100 and 1300 transmissions.
See the thread on the RadioReference forums for additional information.

Recently logged a new Chinese oddity station on 5449 kHz USB with a female voice repeating numbers. I first logged this on Sept 28, 2011 at 1300 UTC. Since then it has been heard during other “odd numbered” hours including 0900, 1100, 1500 and 1700 UTC by various folks. As for what purpose this station serves… it remains a mystery for now. Below is an audio clip of this strange transmission as heard from my location in Southern California.

New York Radio on 8843 kHz with a very stern warning to some bootleggers using the frequency. Message reads: “This frequency is assigned only for the use of aircraft and land stations in the aeronautical mobile service. You are in violation of international law causing serious interference to the safety of flight communications. Please shift to authorized working frequency.”
Here is audio clip of the transmission.

Testing out the decoder last night and ran across this SITOR-B traffic about Typhoon Muifa. I believe this is USCG station NRV in Guam. Here’s some text:
Just caught a Spanish language numbers station on 11182 kHz USB. This is the same station logged last month on 12182 kHz. Station was already in progress with female voice giving 5 figure groups and sign off with 000 000. The signal was about 20 over S9 here in California.

Couple screenshots I just took on my SDR-IQ showing field day SSB phone activity on a couple amateur radio bands.
All I can say is Wow!! 🙂

The past few mornings I have been hearing aero comms on 10072 kHz in USB mode between Seoul Radio and various South Korea based airlines. Today I logged Asiana 105, Asiana 733 and Jeju Airlines 2201 all wkg Seoul Radio. Did some checking on Google and discovered a few other published frequencies that include: 4687, 13333, 17916 and 21970 kHz. I will certainly keep an eye on these frequencies and report my findings.

Tuesday evening (May 17th) I happened to run across strange transmissions on 17196 kHz USB. There was an unidentified person breathing very heavily and moaning… almost as if they were pleasuring them self over the radio. This bizarre activity went on for a good 15-20 mins.
Reception wasn’t great here in California and I suspect the signal was originating from the Asia/Pacific region. Who and what their purpose was, we’ll never know, but I must say this was definitely one of the strangest HF radio transmissions I’ve heard in a while.
Here are a couple of audio clips that were recorded. Headphones are recommended if your in a public setting.
Here is a second audio recording of this bizarre activity.

Stumbled across this Spanish language numbers station on 12182 kHz USB at 0528z. Transmission was already in progress with a female reading 5 figure groups in Spanish and signed off with 000 000.
Hazlett from #wunclub translated the following: “53202 88582 77323 10263 38567 44715 73774 60569 20680 000 000”. It was suggested it might be V07 but not 100% sure. Any ideas?
Here is a brief audio clip from the last minute of the transmission.
