Operation Deep Freeze

GM Mobile in comms with Charleston ROF and Mac Center. Comms sounded like they were initiated through some phone patch link. DTMF tones and automated voice saying 01, 02, 04 connected. Brief chit chat between man and woman that comments about first time seeing the moon and stars from Antarctica.

258.550 PAC: Deep Freeze Base Ops calling Mac Radio and Charleston ROF. Also comms with Ice 01 for satcom radio checks.

Mac Center passing Pegasus weather observation (temp was -32C) to Ice 82.  

Deep Freeze Ops, Charleston ROF and Mac Radio w/ radio checks on satcom.  

Reach 5E1 and Deep Freeze Ops w/ satcom checks. Reach 5E1 mentions they are on the way to Alice Springs and would be available ahead of schedule.  

Caught an interesting exchange between Ice 31 while they were attempting to land at McMurdo. Ice 31 ends up having to RTB back to Christchurch due to poor weather conditions.  

It’s been a few months, but finally logged Operation Deep Freeze activity on satcom again. Here is some traffic between Ice 28 and Deep Freeze Ops on 261.725.
